Manneken Pis

Manneken Pis (Flemish for little man pee), also known in French as the Petit Julien, is a very famous landmark of Brussels, Belgium. It is a small bronze fountain sculpture depicting a naked little boy urinating into the fountain’s basin.

The famous statue is located at the left corner of the junction of Rue de’lEtuve & Eikstraat, next to the Brussels Town Hall and the famous Grote Markt.

On many occasions or ceremonies that are often accompanied by brass band music, the statue wears different costumes. His wardrobe now consists of several hundred costumes. On occasion the statue is hooked up to a keg of beer. Cups will be filled up with the beer flowing from the statue and distributed to people passing by.
