The new terminal is also better equipped to meet Garuda’s future expansion plans.

Singapore serves as an important transit hub for Garuda. The airline currently operates eight direct flights daily from Singapore to Jakarta and Denpasar, Bali as well as other international destinations including Amsterdam, Beijing, Shanghai, Sydney, Melbourne, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Seoul and Tokyo.

Garuda Indonesia is recognized as a 4-star airline by Skytrax. In May 2010, the airline was awarded the World’s Most Improved Airline by Skytrax during 2010 World Airline Awards in Hamburg, Germany. The airline recently went public and is now listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX). In 2009, Garuda Indonesia launched an ambitious growth and expansion plan and aims to become a 5-star airline by 2013.
